SALAFI MASJID, A metamorphic departure in search of contemporary vocabulary in the conventional mosque typology. Amidst a busy regular street rests the Salafi Masjid, as a pause and journey into tranquillity creating a landmark in the minds of the pilgrims and the fellow wayfarers. The Quran states a description of Allah “He created the skies with the light, without pillars you see it”. This thought provoking Islamic philosophy became the characteristic feature, making the sacred light the soul of the mosque.

IDEOLOGY

A composition of words and phrases such as light, functional modernity, transition of spaces, spatial organization, interconnectedness with the surroundings, visual transparency, accessibility, symbolism and hierarchy of spaces along with the inculcation of principle religious values forms the base and structure of the design. The physical structure and spaces created within this sacred enclosure plays a psychological role by creating awe and satisfaction and deeply influencing the behavioural aspects.
